Story of Ghost of Tsushima:

Set in 1274 on the eponymous island of Tsushima, the game revolves around samurai Jin Sakai (Daisuke Tsuji), one of the few survivors of the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Jin will have to master a new fighting style, the way of the Ghost, to defeat the Mongol forces and fight for the freedom of his people and the island. Jin is embroiled in a moral conflict, as under strict samurai ( Bushido ) code fighting stealthily is dishonorable. He also does not receive the approval of his uncle, the lord of Tsushima Island, who is a father figure to him.

The gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima:

Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure game. Played from a third-person perspective, the game features a large open world that players can freely explore. The game will not feature any waypoints and will allow players to explore on their own without a guide. Players can travel to different parts of the game world quickly on horseback. An item that acts as a grappling hook will be available for players to access areas that are hard to reach. The game will feature side-missions and players can interact with other characters.

Players can directly engage enemies using weapons such as the katana, wakizashi, tanto, yumi, etc. often dismembering them. They can also chain a series of fatal attacks after highlighting enemies. Alternatively, players can use stealth to evade enemies and hit them silently. Players can also participate in a one-on-one duel with non-playable characters.

Development Ghost of Tsushima:

Ghost of Tsushima has been developed by Sucker Punch Productions. After completing Infamous: Second Son, the team wanted to develop another open-world project because the team believed that “player choices” are important to the game. The game does not have any waypoints so players have complete freedom to explore the game world. According to Nate Fox, the game’s director, the team distilled the game’s numerous internal releases into “the fantasy of becoming a samurai” during the game’s conceptualization.
